Scouters,

This is going to be one big fun event that you will not want to miss. The Portneuf District Boy Scouts will hold it's  Fall Camporee in conjunction with Idaho Fish and Game's annual "Family Outdoor Festival" at Smiths Trout Haven in Lava Hot Springs. Address is 9589 East Maughan Road. The festival is billed as an "Outdoor Adventure for the Whole Family."  Our own "Jason Beck" IFG Wildlife Biologist, Scouter, and all around good guy is organizing the festival. The IFG flyer link is displayed below so please take time to view it. There will be: Fishing, (Jason is having the pond stocked) Grit League Obstacle Course, Survival School, Elk Calling, Trap Shooting, Air Rifle Range, Archery Range, Tomohawk Throwing, Black Powder Shooting, Cleaning and Cooking Wild Game, Duck Calling, and much more.  Scouts registration will begin at noon on Friday, 3 November. We will set up camp and proceed with a scout specific program of events and games. Saturday, 4 November will be dedicated to the festival. It will start at 9:00 AM and continue until 4:00 PM at which time the scouts will break camp and take their dirty laundry home to Mom. Fathers are invited and encouraged to attend this camporee. Bring you sleeping bags and ear plugs. Other family members are encouraged to attend the festival on the 4th.  Special Note: At the festival there will be a Mentored Youth Pheasant Hunt. Registration for this  hunt is required. Registration is with the IFG and you can register between October 1st to October 31st. Call Idaho Fish and Game at 208-232-4703 The festival is free. However, there will be a $5.00 fee per scouting participant to cover the cost of awards and patches due at registration. For further information or questions please contact:
